Just saw someone comment on one of Jon's pictures on twitter with "Well if being a famous musician ever fails for you (which it won't!) you can always be a photographer" and it just made me laugh, not because I think they're stupid or ignorant for not knowing his past or because they may be sarcastic, just because I find that kind of stuff funny.

Also, I don't really understand the bandom wide wank going on. Like, I knew at the beginning it was because the girl didn't put a disclaimer and then waited an hour before doing so and some crazy decided it was good to write a 3 comment long essay on how qualified they were to tell people what to do. But now I think it's gone on to something else entirely? IDEK

I have a question. When you order food from a restaurant for delivery or take-out, do you tip them? And how approximately how much?

I had to LOL at the crazyface making the three-comment essay. I mean, SRSLY.

But yeah, I don't think the issue is anything to do with arsenicjade or her BBB fic. For what it's worth, I think she handled it better than some other people have in similar situations.

But now you have people saying that asking for dubcon warnings is stifling the artistic license of the writer, or that it's "weak" to ask for fandomg to "coddle you" and that survivors of abuse should just "confront" their fears or gtfo. It makes me seethe with rage and I've never even been in a situation where abuse of any kind affects me personally. I can't imagine how people who *have* experienced it must feel when they see someone dismissing their emotional trauma as akin to asking for a warning if someone's journal layout colors might trigger epileptic seizures or nausea.

*pants* sorry for that. Didn't mean to rant.

I usually tip the delviery people by letting them keep the change? Also, depends on how fast my order arrived and whether or not all the items are there.

No don't worry about the rant because it's all true. It's ridiculous how crazy people are getting. I was talking to [info]xsavedbygracex and she was saying how she sometimes overwarns and she would never think to not warn and I wholeheartedly agree. It's fucking common courtesy and just get over yourself because you are hurting someone very badly. It may be mentally but that can hurt worse than physical pain.

I was just wondering about tipping because I do takeout at my job and I'm lucky if I make 5-10$ on a 630$ ringout and I think it's ridiculous mostly because I live off those tips. They buy me food and such so I just wanted to know what people generally tip.

Wow it's hard to type this all out on my phone lol

From what I've seen, it's become less about the fic, and more about the issue of triggering in general, and how people actually need to take that into account. The assholes saying that people should just get over it need to go diaf, in my opinion.

I missed the 3 comment rage that everyone keeps talking about, so I have no comment there.

I tip delivery people by just letting them keep change, as Arlyn said. :D

Yeah, I can understand that because it's stupid to think you don't need to warn for stuff that's obviously going to trigger someone.

The 3 comment thing was just a bunch of more crap.

Yeah, which is totally better than a lot of people who tip absolutely nothing. Some days it gets frustrating trying my best to be really nice and get everything perfect for them and just get nothing in return.

The internet thrives on wank, people enjoy having arguements about nothing. It keeps them busy when they're out of school. Haha.

I completely agree with that article. Like, I don't expect to get nearly as much as servers because I understand that they do way more service for customers than I do but if every person who came through my takeout tipped a dollar I could make $20-25 a night on a $600 ringout.

So I am lost, what happened?

Yes, I tip them, maybe a couple of bucks?

A girl posted a fic for BBB that contains some consent issues between Brendon and Jon (Brendon is saying outloud for Jon to stop but in his head, which the reader sees, really wants Jon to continue) and she didn't put a warning for non-con and some people asked her to and she eventually did and apologized to those who may have been affected by it. Then someone made a three comment long letter stating their "authority" and "credentials" for knowing about triggers or something. But after all that got deleted by the BBB mods people started taking it to personal journals and turned into people who are trigged by certain things should just gtfo of bandom and it's crazy.

I'm just wondering since I do takeout and I hardly ever make any money. I've recently rung through $1030 in orders and gotten $15 in tip. I just get frustrated some days, hahaha.
