So, initially, the plan of this was to post an album every Sunday. So far, I've kind of sucked, and here we are, Tuesday, a fortnight after the last one. Ah, well.

Photobucket

This isn't exactly an album to listen to if you're looking for something deep and meaningful, but it is a hell of a lot of fun. I mean, their music videos generally feature people dressed up as hamburgers or wearing spandex, and their songs open with lines like "some motherfuckers think they're born to dance" and "My baby's off, yeah, he's shootin' tigers". I've actually long hoped that they'd do a tour with Cobra Starship, because I think it could potentially be epic, but I'm not sure how well-known The Grates are in the States.

Also awesome? They're from my home town in Brisbane, and it's always nice to see spazzy little Brissies finding success. Plus, hey, female lead singer! I've always had a soft spot for female vocalists rocking it out in bands, mostly because I find it pretty hot, but it's even hotter when they've got the talent and the energy to put any front man or woman to shame. Patience is insane live.

And besides, she's also kind of hot )

This song is still my jam -

Anyway, DOWNLOAD HERE

(Highlights? 19 20 20, Rock Boys, Trampoline, Lies are Much More Fun, Science is Golden, Inside Outside, Sukkafish, and pretty much the rest of the album, haha.)

you say come touch me, but
(4700) || Panic At The Disco || Brendon/Ryan || PG-13

Set during the NRWC tour. Brendon rescues a family of ducklings, then comes to realize his folly. Then Ryan realizes his folly (amongst other things).

A little piece of resolute fluff for [info]softlyforgotten ♥, on account of her bad day.

Brendon tries to look how he imagines someone would look if another person questioned their sanity for absolutely no reason. He has to imagine pretty hard, because admittedly that's not really what's happening here.

@thisisryanross: Just saw fantastic mr. Fox. Doing so did nothing but convince me even further that I'll be getting a pet fox in the not so distant future.

After rambling at [info]lyo about how Ryan would name his fox Harrison and would desperately want to cuddle it, only to have Jon explain to him that, no, foxes don't sleep in human beds, they like their dens, so he makes Ryan a faux den for Harrison to sleep in, and then Brendon's all "\o/!!FOX!" and makes Spencer go with him to visit, I JUST WANT SOMEONE TO WRITE ME THE STORY OF HARRISON THE FOX AND HOW HE SAVES RYAN'S LIFE. ;__;

Title: Sweet Silver Bells
Pairing: Ryan/Brendon
Word Count: ~1500
Rating: PG
Warnings: former!mpreg, possible better understood if you read Rock-a-Bye Baby but not necessary, gay marriage? do we really warn for that?
Author's Note: I wrote this for [info]redorchids 's Christmas Wish Exchange. Last year, she asked someone to write her Ryan and Brendon getting married on Christmas. For some reason, no one filled it for her. So I decided to. This is from my Rock-a-Bye Baby verse, after Riley is born. In this verse, I would like to remind everyone that the band never split, so. Obviously this is fake, didn't happen, this is my disclaimer, blah. On with the show. (Also, I'd like to add that I might write a full sequel for Rock-a-Bye Baby, and this might show up in the re-write, might not, so. We'll deal with that roadblock when we come to it.)
Summary: Ryan feels like he's going to throw up.

    1. I watched all of Firefly (yes, even the episodes I hate!) and Serenity this weekend (because my concept of steampunk has less to do with Victorian fashion and more to do with cowboys. And spacships, I guess. Um. I'd read a Firefly steampunk AU in a heartbeat, just saying; Kaylee in goggles? Yes or yes?). My brain is sort of fried, but in a good way.

    2. And then, after the movie, I downloaded [info - personal] obsessive24's brilliant, scary-awesome, sort of subversive Mal/River vid "Body," because it's all of those things I said.

    3. And then I went on a bit of a spree and discovered they'd also done an SPN s1-4 vid to MGB's "Fall of Man" (embedded in linked entry; Dean and Castiel character stuff and Dean/Castiel, but not romantical-like), and then I watched that, and then I died. It's so good (because it's one of my favourite MGB songs, and because Nicky is stupid talented, and because it's like nine different things I could never put into meta, and because the Ayn Rand bit they quote is one of the reasons I can't completely write off Ayn Rand). SIGH.

    (There's an older SPN vid by somebody else to that song, but it's kind of iffy and hurts my soul, so.)

    4. Last night, I had a really tasty scene and a half, and I got to watch my favourite hot brother in a really short skirt (and hold her sword-cane, yay), so, you know, my life is pretty awesome at the mo. *smug smile*

    (I just decided I need a shirt that says "my brother is hotter than yours," and then realized at least two reasons why that's a terrible idea. Serves me right for being smug, I guess. *facepalm*)

    5. To make my life more awesome, I need to answer a couple of e-mails (for work/union and volunteer shenanigans), and schedule some cuddling and negotiation timez sometime next week. Woot.

    That is all! I've been informed that there's a Spencer Reid on my TV, so I should go attend to that.

    This is a DW-origin crospost, oh noes. Feel free to comment on LJ or the original post here.

    So, I've sort of finished a [info]yuletide story, but, um, it's not actually for one of my prompts. I still have to do that one. It's one I wrote based on prompts I saw while DYW letter-hopping. This other one was just easier to write, for reasons that I'll explain when I'm allowed to talk specifics. But, erm, if anyone wants to volunteer to beta this story which I cannot describe in any way, I wouldn't say no. ..... :D? I'll tell you that I know several of you are familiar with the source material I've used for this story. And if you are in the mood to be adventurous and GO FOR IT, you should IM me: xmsnbufgal or respond here.

    In other news, my friend and I have begun planning for the road trip that we're taking in July. We're driving from Chicago to San Diego for Comic Con, with stops along the way at Lincoln, Nebraska and Denver, Colorado. We're actually spending time in Las Vegas (my first time!) and Los Angeles, in addition to the four days that we'll be at Comic Con. We're really excited and plan to blog about the whole thing. We even made an LJ community (lj user="usroadtrip_2010">) so that we can post pictures and stuff for our friends and family to see.
